Rhetoric 21-Year-Old Bourbon Review

This 21-year-old bourbon is the second release of Rhetoric.  Part of the Orphan Barrel series, Rhetoric is an experiment in aging.  The first release was a 20-year-old whiskey.  The same juice continues to age.  Each year, a small portion of the juice is released, letting the whiskey-loving public taste the differences between it and previous (and younger) releases.

I.W. Harper 15-Year-Old Bourbon Review

Earlier this year, the I.W. Harper brand was recently re-introduced to the U.S. market in a standard offering and this limited-edition 15-year-old expression.  The whiskey was distilled at the Bernheim distillery, now owned by Heaven Hill.  It’s made up of 86% corn, 6% rye and 8% barley, and is selling for an SRP of $74.99.  The bottle is a re-interpretation of the old I.W. Harper glass decanter.  Let’s get to tasting!

Blade and Bow 22-Year-Old Bourbon Review

Blade and Bow 22-Year-Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey_Bottle shot

Blade and Bow is the newest bourbon brand from spirits giant Diageo.  In addition to a standard offering, a 22-year-old limited release of Blade and Bow hit the market.  It is a blend of whiskies from the George Stagg Distillery(now Buffalo Trace) and Bernheim Distillery, all aged at Diageo-owned Stitzel-Weller near Louisville.  This one-time release comes in the same shaped bottle as the standard offering and is bottled at 46% abv for an SRP of $150.
