Booker’s Bourbon – Batch 2015-04 “Oven Buster” Review

Booker’s is one of my favorite whiskies from Jim Beam.  Better yet, it’s one of my favorite barrel-proof bourbons, period.  The fourth batch of Booker’s, “Oven Buster”, is here.  Picked from a roundtable of whiskey writers and experts, batch 2015-04 is also the year’s youngest release.  This one is aged 6.5 years and arrives at a respectable 127 proof.

Jim Beam Kentucky Fire Review

Flavored whiskey is a big seller here in America, especially if it’s cinnamon flavored.  It seems Sazerac took the lead with Fireball, a whiskey infused with cinnamon flavors.  Jim Beam, who is no stranger to the flavored whiskey market, followed up with Jim Beam Kentucky Fire.  This latest flavored whiskey is added to their current lineup that includes Jim Beam Honey, Jim Beam Maple, and the Red Stag brand.  The label on this 70 proof release says it’s “Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey infused with cinnamon liqueur.”

Jim Beam Signature Craft 12 Year Old Bourbon Review

Jim Beam Signature Craft is a newish premium line of bourbon under the Jim Beam name.  Sure, Booker’s, Baker’s, Knob Creek and Basil Hayden are produced by Beam, but they are separate brands.  The JB Signature Craft launched in 2013 with a 12 year old bourbon and a bourbon infused with Spanish brandy.  This article looks at the 12 year old version.  Bottled at 86 proof, Jim Beam Signature Craft seems to be created to be a sipping whiskey.
