Dewar’s White Label Blended Scotch Whisky Review

Dewars White Label

Dewar’s White Label Blended Scotch Whisky is the entry level expression for the brand.  It’s also the company’s biggest selling whisky.  Dewar’s has been around since the mid-1800s, and has been awarded numerous times.  They like to tout the White Label as “the world’s most awarded blended Scotch.”  You can find this one on just about every shelf in the $20 price range.

The nose here is sweet and floral, with honey and heather dominating.  The entry is light and sweet.  Honey from the nose is at the forefront, followed by a crisp citrus note and malt.  The finish is sweet, but short and clean.

Dewar’s White Label usually hangs around the bottom shelf, which is a shame.  It’s got a nice flavor profile – light, sweet and crisp, which to me makes for a nice sipper, but don’t go expecting a complexity of flavors you’d find in a good single malt.  I’d suggest drinking Dewar’s White Label neat with a lemon twist.

7/10
